ATTRACTIONS - We have so many wonderful places, tradtions and stunning scenery that are all quintessentially Scottish. They draw visitors from all around the world to come here and explore our amazing country. This word map hopes to capture the essence of all of this (sadly I could not include everything).

HISTORY - Scotland has so much to offer and the history of our Clans & Castles are always of great interest to visitors who come here from across the world.
This word map hopes to capture a flavour of our clans and where their roots began, plots the locations of some of the castles - ruined or lived in today. As well as the major battles which shaped our land and history.
BEER - After a visit to The Lade Inn at Christmas 2014 to buy a few festive beers from their extensive selection in the Scottish Real Ales & Beers Shop, I was inspired to create my third map - Scottish Micro Breweries.
The perfect gift for someone who loves their craft beers.
FOOD - the seventh Scottish word map to be added to the Series. I enjoyed researching this map with my parents - my mum loves food and cooking for others, you HAVE to eat when you call round to see her! What a wonderful collection of food we have here in Scotland, fresh products grown, reared, harvested from our land and from the sea. We have world renowned produce - from haggis to salmon - and it is definitely a highlight for visitors coming to Scotland to sample some of them. Exploring old traditional dishes with wonderful names and ingredients. When my mother was growing up on Mull food was limited but if you lived in the countryside you definitely had a richer selection, and she remembers my grandmother posting (!) rabbits to family in Glasgow to supplement their diet. Today we can all enjoy the eclectic mix of food available here in Scotland.
GIN - This map was inspired by a visit to The Storehouse at Foulis Ferry. They currently stock all my Scottish series maps and they were keen to add to this collection with a Gin Map. They have a fantastic collect of gins for sale and they have been very helpful in the creation of this map.
The number of Scottish Gin producers is constantly growing and they use an amazing assortment of botanicals to flavour their gins - my map hopes to capture some of these wonderful elements.

GOLF - this is my sixth Scottish Series word map. It seemed an obvious map to make because we are "the home of golf" and we have over 500 courses!!!! This was just too many to try to put into my map, so the it only includes 18 hole courses (413 of them...) plus a few 9 holes to fill in a gap here and there. It also tries to capture all aspects of golfing - from the terminology to equipment - and a few of the early golf founders. Hope you can find your favourite course on the map - it may not be exactly in the correct position but it'll not be far away - a bit like when you are looking for your golf ball in the rough!
MOUNTAINS - this is my fifth Scottish Series word map - Scottish Munros. I live with many Munros around me in the Trossachs and just love the skyline as you drive north through Glencoe, up into Lochaber, Inverness and onwards into Sutherland. This maps tries to capture an essence of the scale of these mountains. It comes with a wee health warning for the purist Munro Baggers - not all the mountain names are positioned where they actually are.... I have taken artistic licence - taking the highest mountain within a mountain group and have tried to place it as correctly as possible. All other mountain names are spread across the Scotland map. Hope you still like the concept of the map and can enjoy trying to find your favourite mountain - somewhere on the map!!!
MALT WHISKY- I just had to do this one, with a father and husband who love a wee dram and I would not be forgiven if I didn't create this word map...
Scotland is known around the world for its iconic drink - "Uisge Beatha - water of life". Famous for its history, the manufacturing, the smell, the taste and the general romance of it all.
This is a perfect gift for someone who loves their whisky.
FISHING - is one of the most popular past times for many and it is little wonder when we have numerous lochs and rivers to go fishing on. So this word map hopes to capture the love for this sport.

FILMS - it's little wonder we have so many movies filmed here in Scotland when it has been given the title of one of the World's best cinematic destinations! Our deverse countryside including mountain ranges, rocky shorelines, sandy beaches, wilderness and historic cities, towns and villages - we have it all!
This is a perfect gift for a film buff.
DIALECT - we have just the most amazing selection of words, phrases and dialects around Scotland, which I just love. I came from the West Coast of Scotland and I would really struggle to understand a strong Aberdonian accent - what is a loon? This was a joy to create this map - it didn't "Nip ma heid" and was not a "palaver" to complete!!! I hope you love it too.

OUTLANDER - on the back of looking into Scottish Films this topic came up. I have never watched it but I was intrigued to find out more and my researched started... I was amazed to find out what a large fan base the series has and I've enjoyed finding out about it - now all I need to do is watch the first 3 series!
